All the articles I wrote this month were leading up to this point, where I re-engineered everything after I turned down that bass and kick and click and a very elusive mastering technique was discovered. This one has more. It includes all the enhancements to culminate this spectacular design that I consider a masterpiece. It's all packaged nicely into presets in my new templates. There's one for just vocals over instrumentals, and then there's the full out producer packaged template. Anyone who believes in me will receive the blessing of this.
No need to even bring up how I'm combining Melodyne and Auto-Tune now. Okay, I just brought it up 😅, felt like it needs up in here with the hall-of-fame feeling this article has. 🏆
I'll admit the previous versions from earlier this month were very close, but they didn't contain the final sidechains and micro adjustments to the tuning of the dynamics and spectral balance or other enhancements that I won't mention here. The last few percent of quality took a considerable amount of time, but I feel confident we are at 110%. You may be wondering, did he just say more sidechains? Yes, there's more. Reverb sidechains now too. It's a best of both worlds situation, you get the punch and clarity of a dryer vocal but still get the reverb tails. Much to my surprise it's working really well on rap vocals which typically have less reverb. I anticipated it would sound the way it does on thicker verbs for singing. There are further enhancements, but I gotta put a cap on it. ✨
